A multifaceted jazz pianist, Naomi Nakanishi is from Las Vegas, Nevada where her musical endeavors began as a world jazz studies major at the Las Vegas Academy of the Performing Arts. There, she had the opportunity
to perform at numerous jazz festivals such as Next Generation Monterey, Jazz Festival, Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Reno Jazz Festival, Las VegasJazz Invitational, Midwest Clinic, All State Jazz Band, and the national
Jazz Education Network Conference with both big band and small group.
Naomi has spent most of her summers on the west coast at the Idyllwild Arts Jazz Workshop, the Berklee College of Music’s Five Week Summer Performance Program, and the Centrum Jazz Workshop where she worked with artists such as Jeff Clayton, Anthony Wilson, Matt Harris, Benny
Green, Geoffrey Keezer, George Cables, Eric Revis, and Taylor Eigsti. Naomi has also shared the stage with world renowned jazz musicians such as Jeff Hamilton, Randy Brecker, Jimmy Cobb, DeeDee Bridgewater, Nat Reeves, and Marlena Shaw.
She is currently working to pursue her BM in Jazz Performance at the Eastman School of Music in the studio of Gary Versace.
An ambassador of jazz, Naomi strives to share this art form in order to cultivate an enriching experience for anyone she comes across.
